With FormTrap all user-defined forms are loaded on the host server
which eliminates the need for a dedicated form server PC. Switching
between the new delivery and existing printing methods takes only a
few keystrokes. As a result, FormTrap requires little or no training.
And since FormTrap is application and platform independent, it can
grow with the changing needs of any organization. FormTrap is
future-proof.
With FormTrap any form is easily created in an intuitive desktop
publishing environment. Changes to forms such as addresses, phone
numbers, personnel and logos are easily and instantaneously updated
without interruption to the system.
Forms are designed and formatted with text editing functions much
like those available in today's popular word processing software
packages. Start by redesigning your form using FormTrap's simple, yet
feature-rich GUI design tool called FTDesign. Use frames, images and
other graphic elements to create contemporary business documents that
present your organization's competence and currency. Include the data
elements from the existing system on your form with complete font,
size and position freedom.
Once the form layout is complete, a sample of the print file from
your application is used to graphically connect the existing data into
the new design. This intuitive, one-time process records the links
that allow the business data to be extracted from your old output and
seamlessly merged into the new document.
The forms are assembled into a single file and loaded to the host
server. When the user "prints" the file from the source application
the file is automatically captured, the contents merged into the
assigned fields within the new form and delivered to the chosen
output. And presto! The form is laser printed, faxed or emailed. It's
that simple.
